A Silicon Valley startup claims to have cracked one of most elusive goals of the software industry: a near-universal emulator that
allows software developed for one platform to run on any other, with almost no performance hit.

You can always try to make things better than competitors, no matter how old your idea is. Ofcourse it is not easy task for the small company, but you can always try.
If I would have to choose between .NET and Java I would definetaely select Java. .NET is still too MicroSoft related. |
