All top level domain names have a 35 to 40 day renewal grace period after the expiration date that is run by the registrar (e.g., OpenSRS, NetSol, ENOM). After this, the central registry (.com, .net: Verisign for example) will have a 30 day Redemption Period during which the owner can still get the domain name back, for $80 to Verisign. After that there is a 5 day Pending Delete status. After that, the domain name is available to register. |
