There's no 4.1, after 4.0 comes 4.2

No, we've got AMIGAOS4, not OS4
And, thank you very much, but I'll stick to the name Amiga, you can keep MorphOS

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did anyone ever say "This is all we've got?" - so what're you complaining about? You saw a bunch of pictures and that must be all that is available?

IIRC, 4.0 and 4.1 are the releases that Hyperion is going to do.

Whee, maybe you should come to Amiganet IRC where several regulars hold or
have held a broad range of occupations at various well known companies,
amongst which the likes of Oracle, Veritas, Microsoft and Red Hat.
Talking to people working at some big company or agency doesn't mean a
thing, but you manage to make it sound like they are strategic partners already.
I guess putting it like this sounds nicer than saying that some Amigans who
happen to work for company x took an interest and talked to you.. Unless of
course you are prepared to say they did this in an official capacity.
Until then, spin it baby, highly entertaining!

That's nice to hear. Especially if these fellows have some high status or are OS researchers or something :)
It's known that NASA used Amigas a lot, also EU is looking alternatives for Windows. (we would really need some Office software here :)
That Nato sounds interesting..just wondering..
Any extra-terrestial contacts yet?-)

It is surprising how much interest the Amiga name gathers these days. And many people are quite positive about it, perhaps even more so than those within the community. :-)
Good luck to you and Hyperion!

Yes the amiga brand name is strong, this is what amino bought in the first and they were interesting in the brand name, nothing else.I was surprized today when i have found that a major news portal here in greece has an article about os4 and mentions also amigaone as a platform so expect more visitors coming. There is a general interest about amiga comeback but there is also sceptism about it`s support from software and especially professional software like databases, servers etc.I hope that os 4 and ppc will bring the power we need to attract serious developers and port their software to os 4

>this days NASA use a lot of linux and the MIL.
>use all-sow a lot of linux, ( WinNT is to unstable :-) )
They use mostly Windows 2000, Windows NT has been discontinued if you haven't heard yet.
They use less Linux that Windows 2000, you are probably reading some pro linux sites.
> As i remember they selected Amiga
> back in the days because of it's small OS kernel
> and the stability factor this brings,
> and for it's multitasking.
It was the multimedia capabilities and the multitasling.
> I do not know if they use Amiga them this days.
Hal Posted last year that there was one of the sites still using couple of Amigas in their lab, not sure if this is still accurate.

You are really a peice of work, aren't you?
Have you met Ben or spoken directly to him?
I have, and I am proud to have such brains and spirit in our Amiga developer community along with the rest of the Hyperion team.
It is your likes, the trolls and lunatics/zealots that nearly took down this platform forever.
You need to grow up before you start attacking someone that you don't know.
What have you done to the Amiga?
And what is this obsession with Ben?
And yes, I know that you are not Thomas, but just a sad person with no life.

In reply to Comment 34 (Anonymous):
Well Amiga is quite stable if you don't use faulty software. Most of the gurus or in new Amigas software failures are caused by badly written applications. Most of the failures are not caused by AmigaOS itself, but application doing something what it should not do. So if you make sure you don't write broken software then you should not have problems with software failures.
Stack overflow is also one of the most common reasons for software failures and you can avoid those if you use eg. stackattack tool, which increases stack reserved for task/process automaticly.

You really are a stupid person aren't you!!!! The Frieden brothers allready made a statement quite some time ago that they don't go to mailing lists and forum sites anymore because of those idiots like you.
So posting as Thomas Frieden at this point in time makes you a very, very stupid person because no one believes it. If you are trying to do something like that then at least be informed about what you do. But then again, you probably don't have the brain power for that.
