First of all, it's not about me, nor my dislike for the members of The Faithful Followers of the Name Cult. Nor my dislike for HYPErion/Hack&Patch. It's about the Amiga Community and what it has been forced to endure since C='s death. There was genuine excitement with AT, and the hopes we could see a follow on to our favorite systems. Sadly, as we all know, the quality of owners has gone into a death spiral. From STBs to game layier, we've hit rock bottom and have been surrounded by some pretty nasty bottom feeders.
We, as a community, should have been over joyed to have two possible commercial avenues, and one OSS and one sort of OSS avenues to go from DEath to life again. But no, we get FUD, HYPE, and everything else in between. Where you not hoping as well that the two commercial systems could be compaired, nose to nose instead of this stupidity on IP violations, law suits and just about everything else in the middle?
Then on here, we get the Super Duper Secret Inner Circle ML Moderator, AmigaMMC, bitching and moaning about things being posted that are contrary to his spin/hype mission. Oh looky, Mike is apparently on that list as well. Oh, do we see the light yet on what concerted effort is being put forth on these different web boards?
Clearly, atleast for me, it's not about hating the Amiga Community. That is and I hope it yet will be, a really cool community to be still apart of. There are some (not many) gifted coders out there who enjoy doing their craft for the fun of it. Unfortunetly, the certain elitist, seem to spoil it for me, and I don't mind being verbal about it.

This is certainly encouraging coming from someone presumably on the 'inside.' There are already various rumours about Fleecy being a no-show at the WOASE and that there are no pending Amiga Inc. announcements. Let's hope this speculation is baseless.

The speculation isn't baseless. Its basis is the fact that Amiga Inc. closed offices and phone lines without any explanation. Their web site is also dead for all practical purposes.
If it turns out they aren't dead they could have put this warranted speculation to rest with a simple web site update. How hard could that have been?

I think we all agree that the communication problems are unforgiveable, but that's symptomatic of the way Amiga Inc. conducts their business not an indication of their corporate stability -- and there is a difference. To the outside world, these guys run things primarily with their hearts. Nothing that they really do screams 'professional' and none of this can be justified by limited resources. It's the little things that count.
It's important that someone attending the WOASE show sends a clear message that no matter what the outcome is this weekend, they desperately need to pull up their socks. We don't need excuses or false hope, just the truth. Those that are willing to continue on in good faith need to know that the community, prospective customers and the industry are taken seriously. At the very least that means bringing the web site into this decade's standards and having someone proofread the content for spelling and grammar.
We have something good here. Let's not let this become Jackass: The Company.

Well, if you really want to bend these guys brain's, ask what happens if Thendic picks up the pieces and picks up the rights to the Amiga name, and dubs the Pegasos -> The AmigaOne, and MorphoS -> AmigaOS, according to the vast majority of Amiga zeolots the name is the defining factor, so to be intellectually consistent they would have to become MorphOS fanatics, funny. I can see Bouma and Luca's heads both exploding from the confusion.

Are there any other Belgians going to WOA? Sofar only me, SimplePPC & NG are coming (and Ben off course).
I'll Probably be bringing my handycam along, and my digital camera, and there will be news posted on my site & ann.lu's.
However, i'll prabably won't be able to cover every announcement, and i will be focussing mainly on AOS/A1, MOS is less important to me atm, however, if i get the time i will visit their stand too.
@Dammy: You are not impressed that Hyperion ported QuakeII? Why? did it take them too long? Did you port it already? Or is it because it's an older game?
If it's because it's an older game, or because it took this long, then i pity you, i truly do... It's not asif they didn't have better things todo you know?
If it's because you ported Quake2 already, where is it?
I hope to meet a whole lot of you guys :)
