Or maybe DaveP doesn't understand the word "maybe", and maybe he just wants
to discredit the factual part of my posting by doing some of his beloved
    Kronos-bashing ?

    maybe maybe maybe ....

But looking back to late 2001, do you really think that Hyperion even wanted
    such a cooperation ?

Don't forget the "hobby OS" comments from a certain belgian IP (drunken Hyperionemployee?) and possibly Hyperion's refusal to do Warp3D for MOS-OS4.

..and maybe 'cause "Morphosers" heads were just where they're now - just a little bit too high...

    Hi Greenboy,

    >...and now, back to our regularly scheduled "Tony Robert's HOW TO NOT PAY >EMPLOYEES OR LANDLORDS AND STILL HAVE PEOPLE TO POST ON FORUMS"

Well at least for not paying employees, Viscorp did exactly that, so as bbrv was working at Viscorp they did the same. (not paying employees ...)

I don't have a clue for Landlord but don't care very much, not paying employees is enough to me... I'm sure that they were not doing this on purpose but because they lacked of money...

One point on both side don't you think ?

If you want to learn about the history of the personal computer, read Fire in the Valley (check at Amazon.com). Even if its not about Amiga, its worth reading it, bbrv read it if not already done. Its very interesting.

As for Amiga vs Genesi, I bought an Amiga SDK more or less to support Amiga, I asked for an update of it, at least twice and I never get a reply back, so I'll see which machine I bought once I'll see OS4 in Toulouse.

Remember Toulouse bbrv?, a nice town isn't it :)

Why do so many think that BBRV was the wielder of the corporate checkbook at Viscorp? Because it is convenient? Public comments made by others indicate that is not the case.

    Hi Greenboy,

Because that's what a friend of mine working for Viscorp told me and I trust him more than bbrv.

Read what Carl said about Viscorp here :

    http://www.cucug.org/amiga/aminews/1996/961116-sassenrath.html

Do you want me to ask him who represent Viscorp in its words, anybody can ask Carl its just a matter of sending an email to him.

heh, almost every news is finished with conflict retoric ;) - now, while looking on this sandbox Ami-Genesi ping-pong I'd rather say I've got you all deep in my a*s ! Now I have to look on. I've wasted (?) 10 years in Amigaworld and now have to look on divide and destruction of IT ! Don't act like f*****g politics bbrv/greenboy & rest of you - What do you want to proove - that Amiga isn't exist? That Morphos is natural Amiga evolution? Than what is the hell Amiga - some not-amiga system?? Everyone'll get a big kick on this civil-war, so don't make some cheap propaganda & shitty anti-advert hacks - it's enough boring, it's too much. If its too late for making some agreements between this funny rest/quasi-amiga firms, than it's time to install linux ;( Who tha f***k want to play in building new amiga-clone? [I'm talking 'bout serious developers/firms] -when all-amiga market is & for quite long'll be too small for that - It's not a new psx console or something! BTW: don't you know any folk-sentences, like WHO SOWS THE WIND MUST REAP THE WHIRLWIND ! oi

Get as angry as you want. Pile the words into one big paragraph. It won't change anything except your blood pressure, and a few others who are a lot like you. Maybe later in life a health care professional can deal with the results.

IF that's the one I've read a million times, it doesn't say anything about BBRV.

So big deal - I can always call Carl and bug him to say what I've already known for quite awhile: BBRV was not holding the purse strings when things began to go down.

The thing is, what he said meshes with what I heard as well. The problem was more than just licensing fees, it was insane requirements added to the system, several of which would have crippled the system performance.

That was unacceptable, and that is why AInc failed.

well greenboy-warrior, instead of answering on this, however retoric, questions you are still using blood pressure tricks- are you trained in public relations or something? ;) [btw:i'm some kind of doctor, so probably know little bit more 'bout b-pressure ;)]. I'm a developer & love Amiga, if I want to make something for other "alternative" system i'd go for linux. Nor morphos nor os4 will be revolutionary [at least for 1-2 years more, if ever] - so what's the point in dividing rests of amiga community/market? morphos cannot count on any non-amiga people [personally i don't know any] -so it's quite normal it's pissing me off, when someone wants to tear community i ve'used to. A'propos bbrv -personally i have nothing to them [him? her?], except they're leading this ami-suicidal enterprise, and - it's quite obvious that calling bbrv is the easiest way to get to the point, just as amigainc ceo & so on - so don't worry 'bout bbvr - they have all this stuff "calculated" into their business ;]. [ & btw2: -just to anticipate further blood-pressure llama posts - i've nothing to do with amigainc - i just love my beloved computer!]

So angryman, your main problem is that MorphOS is called MorphOS and not AmigaOS, thus it does not count into non-amiga people?

So you don't actually love your Amiga because of the way everything works but because it counts to tell non-amiga people you have an "Amiga" (but the trick doesn't work with the "Pegasos" keyword)?

As far as I know, Pegasos now is as "clasic amiga" as AmigaOne will *someday* be.

    ------------

yes in some way you've got right. Thats how i see the matter - and it's rather obvious, that better is to start from some stage than from beginning.
Beside that i love Amiga because of using it, and not only showing my friends, that it's working still. I'm still using IT -although it's more harder nowadays- and directly from this reason i'd like to have & support 1 AmigaOS, because we're [my group/firm] LAZY & i don't want to waste time for double [triple?-aros] f*****g with compiler/hardware - and i'm sure, that people from many much bigger companies are at least as much lazy as [-it was a little bit metaphore for too low blood-pressured people ;)].
So what? YOU think, that dividing Amiga community is something good???

In my opinion Ainc/Genesi should work together [in the system matter] - it's turned out as a naive dreamin' - so I'm pissed off while waking up from Amiga-dream - is it so hard to understand?
It's a civilwar going on [will be there some kind of "open conflict" when the OS4'll show up?] - if anyone tries to point that it's good - than @!#!#$ $#^$@#@ %$!%^&$ %@$^^&$! and the rest of you ;]

    --------

I will agree with you here. If Pegasos was named Amiga (or Commodore, or Atari) then it would be something for some people BUT that is not a vital point for it's success IMHO.

All it is needed is just a little time for the word to spread out (ie Pegasos == Amiga Next Generation). After all just one contact with a Pegasos will be enough for anyone to get convinced about that!

    --------
...i'd like to have & support 1 AmigaOS, because we're [my group/firm] LAZY...
    --------

I know what you mean. I am LaZy a lot too about some aspects regarding computers! For example:

*) I don't like spending too much time confused how to install things (hardware / software). I want to go through nice, easy and clear procedures.
*) I don't like spending too much time confused how to patch the OS with this and that in order to have myFavoriteApplication working right.

But these have nothing with what Genesi is trying to do!
They are trying to advance your beloved Amiga platform and bring it out of its missery. They also giving hard competition to Amiga Inc., Hyperion and Eyetech, but hey this is buisness. They are trying TO MAKE MONEY!

You don't HAVE to have & support all 3 OSes. Just let them be. Give them a chance to compete AND THEN choose what suits you best, the name, the functionality, the stability, whatever...

In the end MorphOS and AROS are built upon the principles of AmigaOS.
