It has been two and half a month since I bought my Pegasos.
I used it almost every day and wrote a review that you can find here.

> Interestingly, right-clicking on a jpg on my desktop, and selecting "open with..." and "choose program" from the menu, it takes 37 seconds for the box to appear so that I can choose a program to open it with. But that's understandable as I only have an Athlon 2200+ and 1GB RAM.

No, actually that is just incompentence.

I was impressed, although the list mainly consists of old legacy stuff (guessing). But, you know, hard working programmers is what is needed to get a project like MorphOS going.

And it did get going. :)

When I’m working, I don’t care if it was the program I was working who had crashed alone or if it pulled with him the system, I simply don’t care, the bottom line is: my work is gone, damn! Gotta do it again!

On Amiga I always had very specific bugs, (ie- if you do that ->bum! Crash) even my dad could swing bugs on advantage spreadsheet, on windows most of the time you’re figuring out if indeed the system had crashed, if it was the program, or if any had really crashed or are just busy…

On Amiga I know the minute it crash, didn’t have to wait, didn’t had to guess. Maybe because of that it wasn’t so frustrating to have a crash on Amiga as it is on Windows.

That’s because I prefer a fast rebooting system from ground up, when sh*t happens, and as it always happens whether the MP is good or bad due to software nature on itself, at least it isn’t as annoying… and of course it can’t do no bad having ridiculous and almost instantaneous boot that we already had as the MP can still be improved on…

Nice review!

To the folks who want RAD: on Pegasos: why don't you use a USB-memory-stick?
Should be about the same, although of course the speed on USB v1.0 will not
be that great. Maybe not so bad after all, because access-speed is more
important then transfer-rate, when booting?

btw: is is really true, that the northbridge makes it impossible to have an RAD: on
those systems? Until now it has been said, that OF would clear all RAM on boot, but
I haven't heard that about the northbridge.

Yes of course it is, I'm obviously right-clicking incompetently. Silly me. Will you please come round and tell me how to work a Windows PC properly? And while you're here perhaps you could show the other 230 developers who work here how to do it too, since most of them also think Windows is shit. Poor deluded souls..

Looking forward to you enlightening us all as to Windows unsurpassed superiority.

If you're just working on one task, true, it doesn't matter much whether the app or the OS is crashing. However, the Amiga is a multitasking computer, so many users tend to handle several tasks at once. It's a shame that your Wordworth document would end up in the bit bucket just because Voyager crashes.

Just yesterday I installed Morrowind on xp. I dread installing new software on this thing, I never know what's going to happen. I bought it May 2nd.

Guess what? It doesn't work

I've got morrowind installed on my xp and it works perfectly. Also the installation worked simply by one mouseclick so I don't know what your problem is. If it's a sound problem I recommend checking your sound hardware drivers for an update.
