It has taken quite some time for other platforms to catch up, and there is a dearth of video capture platforms that run stably as a whole for under tens of thousands of dollars. If we are talking about a system that can be bought relativly cheaply and has the same benefits as the origional systems it will certainly find favour with multimedia people who know what they're talking about. After all some of the origional systems are still in use.
