Well, I too think that audio/video can also gain from this. MIDI and (more importantly???!!!) USB boards with a set of sliders and a jog/rotary control and some nice switches, fully configurable, can be used for all kinds of things!
I think this API gets us closer to all this. Perhaps a MIDI to AmigaInput driver would be great! :-)

Imagine controlling nice Audio sequencers with a 16 slider board to control the virtual tracks, 16 knobs, 16 switches.. COOL!
