MorphOS user and advocate Daniel Miller wrote an AmiWest show report for the amiga-news.de website. Here are some maybe surprizing quotes: "Other guys fom the Genesi team were running back and forth to get CDs or check things or fleeing for their lives or who knows what. In all it was less than professional and it's a good thing they presented early in the day so there weren't more people present to witness all the problems." and "The OS4 demo on Saturday: this was a wonderfully executed presentation.". Read all about it here and here.

>So if you base your operating system purchases on slickness of presentations at >shows, I guess you use MacOS and QNX exclusively, right? ;-) . If I thought >there was a direct correlation between geeks' performance behind mikes and the >code on the discs, I'd agree, but there seem to be other variables. ;-)

MacOS and QNX rulez! ;-)

no seriously...some of th e best coding geeks out there are FANTASTIC
at giving talks...even if its 100% technobable (which some of them do).
Just in the world of GNU/Linux I could name some very impressive speakers
who are very good at talking in public. of course, Linus and Richard
Stallman are stalwarts at this..but there are many more. *I* am not
basing expectations and futures on these presentations...as i have met and talked to MorphOS and AmigaOS4 projhect managers and developers(tech/soft)
personally...but take 'Joe Public' (as much as he's in the loop at this point)
and he'll look for the professionalism, glitz and style. same as any part
of the tech world.

remember, the act of recording shows and presentations is now going to become
far more commonplace. no more 'text only' reports from shows which
noone else experienced....those will become non-important to the avid
followers worldwide. they'll all be taking note of the media which comes
out of the shows.

the stakes and ante have now been risen a few notches
