Pegasos sales restarting : Comment 14 of 156 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Ronald St-Maurice on 28-Jan-2004 20:30 GMT | In reply to Comment 9 (Christophe Decanini): PCI-X slots ? Even if it would be right, PCI-X would be quite useless for Joe user.
With PCI-X, people can have better Hard drives and get better performance out of their system. I never understood why people pay outrageous sums like 500$ us for an ATI 9800 Pro video card then turn back and ask why people by expensive SCSI hard drives!
I have met some folks who want Ultra 320 SCSI hard drives only. And after testing SATA hard drives, I don't blame them. PATA and SATA are poor multitaskers and CPU hogs. SCSI should have been the standard long ago. <sarcasm>But then they would not have successfully screwed over the customer.</sarcasm>
I wanted a SCSI Ultra 2 Hard drive for my AmigaOne ATX motherboard but it's not a supported configuration. Even though the AmigaOne ATX motherboard has 1 PCI 32bit/66MHz slot which would be fine for SCSI Ultra 2 hard drive and a SCSI DVD-ROM drive. |
