Amiga-news.de asks: which system for 2002 : Comment 59 of 76ANN.lu

In reply to Comment 57 (Anonymous):
"Samface, what is the point in making promises which you can't keep, eh?"
Well, I don't know if they actually made a *promise*, they've just told us about their plans and timeframes, which isn't exactly the same thing.
Here's my theory about why they told us about their plans and timeframes:
1. They believe in their own product. If you can't even tell people about what your plans and timeframes are (with or without making it a promise), that shows a lack of faith in your own product.
2. As new owners of the Amiga brand, the community demanded to know what their intentions where. No matter how much information they give to the community, people always complain about them not telling enough. That pressure caused them to tell us too much. Too much about things that are subjects of change at anytime as their project runs along. Now they've learned from their mistakes but people still bitch about them not telling us about what's going on.
Anyway, I think it's also a sign that they do care about us, the community. Would they tell us anything at all if they didn't care? I mean, it's not like they just bought the name to screw us. I know better ways of wasting time and money.
