That's called the LLP64 model. The only operating system of any significance to have been built with that model is Windows 64, which is unproven and has almost no software.
On the other hand in the LP64 model used by everything from AIX to Linux the unsigned long is 8 bytes on a 64 bit machine. So everything Just Works (TM) as you would naturally expect. |
