AmigaOS 4 running on AmigaOne at Pianeta Amiga 2003 : Comment 63 of 76 | ANN.lu |

What a funny sentence :) I was a longtime contributor and supporter of Galeon who even wrote the backup system for Bookmarks. While you are talking about bloat.
- Mozilla is on it's own (23mb Mozilla).
- Galeon depends on Gecko which requires a full Mozilla installation and GNOME libraries (23mb Mozilla + 5mb Galeon + 50mb GNOME).
Now where are we with bloat again ? Mozilla is a single applications while Galeon depends on Mozilla and GNOME which obviously is 20 times more bloat than you may have guessed. The reason why Galeon or Epiphany was written is to have an application with Native widgetset for the GNOME Desktop using GTKEmbeddMoz. Unfortunately Gecko is still not fitting this gap because it's tied to XUL and all the bloat around. |
