>The same way the French won your war of Independence for you you mean? If it wasn't for the French there would be no US of A.

Are Americans are the least bit resentfull of this? Not at all, in fact it's required history in grade schools.

>Oh, and by the way, the Americans were quite content to let the Nazis invade the whole of Europe - only when their own shipping started getting attacked they decided it wasnt such a good thing.

Yeah the shipments of arms to help Europe.

>Also the IRA were funded and supplied with arms for decades by Americans while they bombed, murdered and maimed innocent British civilians including women and children. Didn't hear anything about a "War on terror" back then, did we?

True enough, and it's probably one of the worst things in American history. Yet somehow people convince themselves that it's all the US's fault the whole thing started. There are moron politicians everywhere, the one who funded the IRA was definatly one of them.

>But as soon as something happens on American soil, it's a different story isn't it? Yes, then its all over the newspapers about "evil terrorists" and how Saddam must be stopped, and the world suddenly has to bow to your every command or else we're labelled cowards or soft. Well, screw you America.

Just fine, the next time some small european country is invaded with a genocidal war, the USA should just say screw you. The USA is definatly not perfect but don't sit there acting like europe dosent go running to the states every 4 years over some new war you guys manage to get started.

>But you were there late! (it was considered a World War you know)

Some still wan't the US to go back to being an isolationist nation, if you can believe that garbage.

>You were not the only ones there! (USA soldiers represented only 1/3rd op the troops on the d-day landings)

Not in sheer manpower no. If any country lost people it was the poor Russians. The germans slaughtered millions of them and they just kept comeing from the east in millions more. True, the US only brought 1.3 million troops (i know that number is wrong but close) but without thier production of equipment (tanks, planes you know) there would have been nothing to fight with. The Germans owned all the industrial facilities and thier weapons were far better than the allies could create at the time.

There were British and Australian forces there fighting alongside the Greeks. They couldn't defeat the Germans, but they did help to delay their advance. Many were captured.

Also, the British navy sunk several Italian warships two weeks after the invasion of Greece.

Although Hitler liked to blame his failure in Russia on Mussolini, only a very small fraction of the German forces was tied up in Greece, so it probably made littele difference.

I think the failure of the Italians to win North Africa was more responsible for the outcome of the war. But then there are lots of such moments that might have changed the war..

It wasent intended as a rant on the French. If anyone read it as anything but a joke, well that wasn't the way it was written. People are much too sensitive these days. Telling a joke is a bit different from believing it's true. But there is enough prejudice around yes. I see it every day.

Wrong, boyo. From
http://amiga.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?forum=1&topic_id=6724&post_id=92460&viewmode=thread&order=1#92460

(this is me talking atcha): "And BTW, nobody from Genesi or Phoenix is advocating PIRACY. The Phoenix PhrojectOS workgroup is working at porting OpenSource stuff like Mozilla and designing projects that will use Pegasos with OpenSource OSes - various flaves of Linux and BSD, etc, and has some pretty talented people from the Open Source (and QNX/posix) communities involved."

>Bill is 100ure that it WILL get cracked.

Sure he is. Anything that has ever been dongelized or copy protected is just practically an open invitation for people who get off on building a cracking rep. Like, duh! Look at the track record for copy protection. It's a red cape for the cracker bull. Seehund has it right: this is not an anti-piracy measure, this i more like a captive market value-subtracted reseller (VSR) move.

>Unbelievable, from my point of view...

Perhaps BBRV could have stated all this more clearly. And perhaps people who want to paint him LIVE EVIL make sure they misinterpret it as well as they can ; }

...Well, while I'm here I might as well do another pull quote from that Amiga.org thread. It's another kind of fudbuster, incidentally - from the GameTeam@phinixi.com list. Jolyon Ralph of Almathera by way of self-introduction mentioned this a couple days ago (put here with his permission):

"Oh, and a quick word about the rumours about Almathera/Viscorp - a lot of things were said about the demise of Almathera and Viscorp's part in it, some attributed to me, which were simply not true. If they were true I wouldn't be so happy to be working with Bill again, and I'm certainly happy to!"

When you have been sent an Email from BB like i have you would think different.

But you have no idear.

Notthing in my comment was threatening BBRV with anything.

BBRV are the ones that should grow up & stop sending emails to ppl who are not intrested in his crap.

No, Gary C...Only recently did Sony announce it will stop manufacturing Beta...but even this does not mean it's no longer being used.If you haven't noticed, even VHS is being phased out. It doesn't mean everyone is suddenly going to stop using VHS.To further miss the analogy ignore the age of Betamax vs. PPC.....and the timeline yet to possibly happen for PPC.

I came to the conclusion that by giving the RIAA what they want and the resulting public response is perhaps the way to change the recording industry. Rather than fighting it tooth and nail, delaying a better system of support for artists. The same can be said of Amiga IP.... Will it work? The fact that MS is now caught in one of their outright court room lies in opening the source of windows up to China....Yeah.... it will work..... In summary, do not pirate Amiga IP, do not fight Amiga's constraints on their IP... let them fail. The sooner that happens the higher the probability of productive and needed change for those needing such a change.
