Interview with Bill M on Extremetech : Comment 52 of 98 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Szutoman on 12-Nov-2002 16:36 GMT | I am curious about this Interview... On one hand its great that the new Amiga hardware and OS are getting attention in the Tech Market Web Sites, but on the other hand, even I KNOW that this interview seems like a big stretch of miss-information. Perhaps its just marketing hype for the X86 crowd that has know Idea what the Amiga is; we all know many new generations of computer users have been born since we, the Original Amiga Users, bought our first Amigas 15 years ago. Man, has it been that long?
Another point is, WE, The Amiga users, are so well informed, that this type of stuff just ignites wars in the Amiga community and creates flame wars and uncertainty in our circle of knowledgably people, however, this information will not necessarily hurt those who are for the first time hearing about the Amiga. I think we all should take this interview, if that’s what you call it, with a grain of salt and rely on the channels of information we know are truth worthy, Hyperion, Eyetech… ect……..
I would like all of use to start a campaign to ask Newtek to Release Light wave 4.0 to the Amiga community, as I believe this is the last version for the Amiga to ever be released. Charge $99.99 for it and use those revenues to hire people to start coding the obsolete later version to the Amiga Community like 5.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5. Until we catch up, provide an upgrade path that is yearly releases and make money off of versions that are considered obsolete in the x86 communities. At least we could have a really good render Program for the Amiga out of the gates even if it is old(-: |
