At the recent Pegasos-presentation at the central station in Leipzig, Germany, also Mandrake 9.1 was shown on the Pegasos, installed using Michael Heider's Image-Installer.

Linux overtaking HURD would assume that HURD started before Linux which isn't true.
"(which is why RMS insists on calling Linux GNU/Linux)."
RMS insists that Linux based *operating systems* using the GNU tools should be called GNU/Linux, as in GNU on Linux. Which is kinda fair as the vast majority of Linux based operating systems use the GNU operating system tools and even lower down, are built with the GNU compiler et al.
"It is doubtful if Hurd will ever get anywhere."
And the BSD's are dead ;) |
