First impressions of the Amiga OS 4.0b : Comment 58 of 86 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Kjetil on 11-Feb-2004 17:11 GMT | In reply to Comment 54 (Sigbjørn Skjæret): Hey I where comparing tow products as they are,
AmiTCP is old and outdated, even RoadShow is outdated, (even linux TCP/IP stack comes from BSD) BSD per definison is not where Amiga like, just browsing the directory's of AmiTCP and you Se no difference from the linux directory tree,
when comparing AmiTCP to linux, then i find AmiTCP where simplistic number of protocol supported, speed, system integration, so if what I read from the os.amiga.com/cam is what it say it is, and is better integrated TCP stack, faster and more protocol supported, then that is a better TCP/IP stack, or I'm I wrong.
They comes from the same source (BSD) and that source is not where Amiga like, and I do not believe AmiTCP where a easy thing to do, no I'm just saying what I say to compare the products, and maybe outline what I believe from the source of information I have read at the os.amiga.com/cam so place, do not make me inn to some Satan, okay!!! |
