Here's the homepage of a new open source MPEG4-based video codec, called 3ivX. It's to be launched on December 15th. Amongst other things, Amiga support is promised.

Like what, is making it open-source some magic formula or something? Does this mean that someone from the Amiga community will actually port it? They promise nothign other than that if someone wants to support a platform, they will have the source. So it's not as good as it sounds for Amiga as undoubtedly the release will be for Linux or Win32. |
