Report from USA Demo of Pegasos, MorphOS : Comment 65 of 116 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Jope on 16-Oct-2002 03:19 GMT | In reply to Comment 36 (Dave): Oh god, I hate this. Why do I always have to come to ann.lu to read people just mindlessly repeating the same stuff over and over again, be it against MOS or be it against AOS4? Both camps have their catch phrases that are recited to every response.
Get a grip people! The Amiga is a great machine, but jesus, supporting and fanaticism are two different things. Be the supporter, don't be the fanatic. No-one likes the in your face-advocate telling you that you suck because of your opinion. I for one wouldn't make "the switch" from another platform to Amiga if I were an Amiga newbie now. Just one look at any Amiga forum makes anyone turn away in disgust.
I do understand why the Amiga stirs up these passionate responses - it's our dream machine as much as the original Los Gatos team's, but why don't we all take a nice warm glass of shut the f*** up and actually WAIT AND SEE what is in store for us instead of blaming each other and making ourselves look like idiots. That's right. Fanatics don't only make themselves look stupid, but the rest of the community as well.
We're closer to getting our much awaited "new Amigas" than ever, so now the best thing to do is stop whining, check the stuff out when it's available, and select the machine that does the job *you* want. End of story. No need to patronise the guy who selected the other platform. No need to throw accusations to make the other platform fail (neither camp will have much impact on the other).
In the end, the market will decide who was right, who gets to live, and all this mud slinging won't really matter one bit.
They're just computers, for pete's sake. |
