Amiga Inc Exec Sept 02 Update : Comment 73 of 91 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Darrin on 08-Sep-2002 12:21 GMT | In reply to Comment 72 (Bill Hoggett): >> disagree. He's a member of the buying public, and that gives him the right to have an opinion and voice it. After all, those companies aren't doing their work "for the sake of the community", they're doing it for money, money which they hope to extract from the buying public. Outside the corporate world, in the market all these companies are aiming at, the buying public is the ultimate judge.
I agree to a point Bill, but there's a difference between criticizing the way a company works (even though Dammy obviously has no idea how a company operates or why they have a need to put a positive spin on their products) and just being downright insulting. Plus, there’s the childish word games he plays – as I’ve pointed out before, the Amiga camp could always talk about the “Thindick Bedwetter running BarfOS”, but at least we try and elevate ourselves above such drivel ;)
Still, from what I see, the only thing that the MOS Cult can do is spread negative comments about everything Amiga Inc/Hyperion,/Eyetech do. This is somewhat strange when you consider that they have a product they can buy (the Betatester) with a version of their precious OS that they can use (MorphOS 0.8). That begs the question “Why haven’t they bought these wonderful products and where are the first hand reviews of these users?” It’s like a said all along – the majority of these losers were only behind MOS when it was a free product. Now that they are expected to spend some cash then all they can do is sit in the shadows and snipe at Amiga Inc. If these guys really want to support MOS/Peagasos then they should be buying the hardware are not trying to destroy the competition. I mean, I envy these guys. I wish I could buy the AmigaOne with a beta OS4 or even with Linux… but I can’t. I do have the money for the mobo safely stashed away and I’m sure I can wait a couple of months for a quality product (and my T-shirt). |
