Pegasos G3 600 Mainboard 650 Euros : Comment 130 of 202 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Him that Does on 23-Mar-2002 13:42 GMT | Lets assume for a moment that the AmigaOne really takes off BIG TIME, and that includes Pegasos, The Uk government has publicly stated it wants to move away from M$ because of the vast amounts of revenue it looks likely it will have to pay M$ annually .. Its currently carrying out a Linux feasibility study, so they are looking seriously at changing at least software ..
What would happen if it chose our platform as "The way Forward". (Hey, it IS, aint it!), How on earth would Eyetech/Bplan produce enough MoBo's to satisfy the extra demand?? Think how many machines are in the civil service !!
How long would it be before the likes of .. Asus, Chaintek, Soltek etc: came sniffing around??
Well, that would be good news for Hyperion, cos they have an M$ style agreement for O/S 4.0 dont they??
But what would our Knights in shining armour do?? (Eyetech/Bplan).
Could they cope if the BIG BOYS tried "Muscleing in" Although that would be good for us, bringing prices lower, etc. It wouldnt do a lot of good for Eyetech, or probably Bplan. |
