The OpenFirmware BIOS that comes from the factory with Eyetech's boards are sufficient to let an OS boot. I'm talking about the "OS4 specific extensions" that are supposed to be added to the BIOS in order to prevent piracy of OS4. If it's even going to pretend to fill its purpose, this OS4 specific BIOS bit will never be allowed to be included in the OS.
In case it's impossible to legally install such a BIOS in the Pegasos, and if AOS4 otherwise would run fine on a Pegasos, then the ones behind the decision for special BIOSes have f****d up. |
