Pegasos G3 600 Mainboard 650 Euros : Comment 60 of 202 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 22-Mar-2002 19:26 GMT | In reply to Comment 54 (Anonymous): " The AmigaOne name is subject to licensing from AInc. The reason Pegasos is no
"AmigaOne" was always given as for monetary reasons, or did you hear otherwise? "
I believe none of us know the real reason why pegasos aren't called AmigaOne, RS have said somthing about it, others said that wasn't true...And I don't care:-) It's just like when we have heard diffrent versions of how Amiga and Morphos didn't come along.
" The AmigaOne _is_ more expensive (777Euro vs. 650Euro here) and has no CPU socket ,which would add some 100s of Euro to the retail price according to Eyetech. "
I don't know where you live (as you are anonymous!) but I haven't seen AmigaOne priced at 777Euro anywhere? The German prices are a bit high compared to Eyetechs own prices.
The Developer version should be around 595 EUR and the enduser product should cost around 653 EUR, both including German tax/Vat (16% ?).
" Today we know the base CPU will be 750CXe with 600MHz. Additionally they announced a fast G3 (to be 1.3GHz :-) and a (dual) G4 with up to 867MHz.
I won't hold my breath, but that's the information that is currently available.
Maybe they will tell us more next week. "
I guess it all comes down to whats available. Right now it's a 600mhz for both systems. I wouldn't even consider spending money on an upgrade from 600 -> 1000mhz, maybe to this dual G4 if that ever becomes available (maybe when G5 is out:-).
>*When did Hyperion reccomend Pegasos over A1???
"I never said they did. In fact they recommended it over the current expensive PowerUP"
Ahh..OK who wouldn't do that, as long as it runs OS4.
boards.
