Letting the World Know : Comment 131 of 216 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Anonymous on 20-Nov-2002 14:19 GMT | In reply to Comment 122 (Frodon): > For a BeOS, Linux, MorphOS...etc developer, the ability to test his ports on each OS without having to reboot the computer and so at the same time :)
This is of extremely limited use. Only if one would do ports to several different platforms at once. And its completely void when .net (or even AmigaDE) gets more popular.
> I can also add: running multiple OSes at full speed (without classic emualtion/VM software restrictions) and at the same time. When you work on multiple OSes it's useful :)
Why does one work on multiple OS's? Because all of them lack certain things. Now, instead of doing a good OS, one simply combines all that "trash" in a big box? Ummm ... I pass.
Sure, this is fun for a few hours but not of any practical relevance to gain any kind of market share. |
