Letting the World Know : Comment 82 of 216 | ANN.lu |
Posted by mahen on 20-Nov-2002 12:50 GMT | In reply to Comment 80 (Trizt): Yes, it's really sad, but all is not lost, as long as
people cooperate, and remain open minded. Because
whether it's OS4 or MOS, it's the SAME COMMUNITY.
There must be a way to run any amiga software on both OS'es,
or enable easy ports. And as someone suggested it, drawing
some common directions (for apis etc) would be ideal. I don't
know the exact terms and I'm kinda awkward, but this was a suggestion
for an independant organization that would set the directions for all
amiga-ish OS'es... So that no split occurs. Enabling to choose your
OS, without fearing that 50% of the soft don't run.
Anyways, if one system turns out to be much better than the other,
it would be wise that everyone accepts that and joins it : it would
just be better for everyone.
Imagine if the OS4 team had contributed to morphOS instead, and
if it had been called Amiga MorphOS 4 or sth like that ?
Everyone would have TODAY the new amigaOS, which would be better
than what MOS or AOS will be for a little while.
Things would be much brighter and the only discussion would be x86
related.
I babble to much...
