According to Irmen de Jong, the AmigaPython website maintainer, the Python programming language may be included as standard with AmigaOS 4.0.
From the AmigaPython site:
UPDATE november 2002: from very reliable sources I know that AmigaPython might become part of the new Amiga OS 4.0 ! What AREXX was for AmigaDOS 2.x and 3.x, AmigaPython might be for the next generation of Amiga OS (and much more powerful of course)

Posted by Petr Krenzelok on 25-Nov-2002 11:25 GMT | In reply to Comment 39 (- GALAXY -): I never programmed in Arexx myself back when I owned Amiga, so I don't know, what OS scripting hooks look like under the hood of native app. Saying that, why would not it be possible to teach each language to talk to app ports? Because that way, you can count on your favorite Perl too, as it will surely be ported or is already available under AOS ...
