Amigo follows up on serious allegations about H&P and says: "I also just asked Unisys as it says here, and am waiting for a reply. If true, H&P could probably be forced to close."
[ If H&P indeed didn't pay royalties for Unisys' GIF algorithm, they might not be forced to close per se, but if this is indeed true, and Unisys decides to sue, they might have to pay some serious fines. Also note that while this is not in unmoderated, it's highly speculative, unconfirmed and generally should be taken with the usual grain of salt - CK ]

Serious allegations about H&P : Comment 95 of 164 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Alex Mathews on 09-Nov-2001 22:06 GMT | In reply to Comment 90 (Thomas Frieden): I forgot the word "etc..." and my name is Alex Mathews not that it makes one shread of difference to the validity of my post. I just don't like signing my name on the net.
I'm fed up with _EVERYONE_ argueing. I know it takes two sides (or more).
If you haven't realised the community is already SPLIT into many groups that are argueing constantly.... and I am fed up with the fact that no one will give an inch, no one will say fine lets stop this now. Basically the vocal majority of people here are acting like narrow minded arses or always jump to conclusions based on a single comment in a news release.
Thomas it was you who jumped to the conclusion that I was slagging off Morphos etc... just because I didn't mention them by name. You typify exactly what I mean.
I'm not going to reply again so you can now slag me off as much as you like, as you inevitably will - such is the way the "community" has become.
Goodbye.
Sort things out and get along while there still his even a shread of community left around the Amiga name. |
