Hyperion software will port Soldier of Fortune to Amiga and Mac : Comment 14 of 66 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Chris Roccati on 11-Jun-2000 22:00 GMT | In reply to Comment 4 (Ben Yoris): | For the moment, it's very hard to sign up licences for great games,
| especially when you say you want to convert them to the Amiga.
This is for sure. I'm not saying it's easy to do.
| When we have an opportunity to sign such a great game, we don't
| think twice.
But the game will be pathetic on the amiga hardware, and there's more
or less nothing you can do to avoid that.
| Moreover, this is by porting such demanding games that
| we can push the hardware development on the Amiga.
As far as we can see, it does not seem so. There was only one company
actually producing a PPC expansion for the amiga and it is not closed.
| Remember also that we will support the new Amiga (i.e. Amie) which
| will run on new and powerful hardware.
When it will run...
| With the BoXeR and now the Mediator PCI bus, we can do great things
| on the Classic Amiga.
None of the two is currently available. As far as we know the boxer
may still be very distant in the future; the Mediator PCI itself gives
nothing unless someone commits in producing quality drivers. |
