Next Pegasos production sold out : Comment 136 of 280 | ANN.lu |
Posted by cOrpse on 08-Jun-2002 14:09 GMT | Recent events, Happenings and situations.
I’m writing this partly as a favour but also as an Ann antacid before things get too out of hand.
Recently I posted a comment on Ann that I regret, and at the news of Christophe taking a step back from Ann I put my e-mail with the post so we could sort the issue out. I hope I have sorted the issue and there are no hard feelings about it, If anyone else was insulted I’m deeply sorry to you too, It was said in the heat of moment like many of my past comments on Ann and carries no substance.
Anyway back to the main subject, at the same time as posted I received an e-mail from Bill Buck himself. The first e-mail was quite unfriendly I’ll say, and basically described how my comments have been hurtful over the past. In my reply I explained my reasons and apologised for the for-mentioned stupid comment of mine. At this point things turned around. Bill and I, I’d like to think have discussed the over hanging issues and the path amiga is taking at this current moment. I also hope I have brought to Bill’s attention some of the issues and concerns we have.
The main thing that has arisen from our exchange is the different path the two Amiga teams if you will, are taking. This is really general knowledge, but maybe not generally accepted.
I did also ask in one of the mails if there was any possibility of helping Hyperion and indirectly the amiga community by supplying some PPC card documents etc. Bills reply was that they have given such documents on the Cyberstorm and that they were gratefully accepted, And before anyone snipes me down and has a flame war at me, of course I don’t have any evidence of such an exchange, But I do know Bill has been willing to discuss / help with some of the amiga issues I currently have which I’m very thankful for. I’m not judging who’s right or wrong here, both have their merits.
I respect Ben and Hyperion for their high quality and genuine interest in keeping AmigaOS alive, and contrary to popular belief I respect the MorphOS team and Bplan for what they’re trying to do, even if I don’t think its necessarily the direction for me.
My point being before we go having a massive argument at Bill or Ben we have to consider their both good chaps really and trying to do something even if you don’t consider their way your way. If one of them thinks they helped and the other didn’t should not end up in people posting hate, but constructive points on both sides of the situation.
Anyways , I’m hopefully going out to get drunk and rave it up soon , so I’ll see you all later :). |
