"From: Raquel Velasco and Bill Buck. We would like to announce that the next scheduled production of the Pegasos has been sold out. Boards have been set aside for friendly developers, but all others have been sold. Another production of the Pegasos will follow in July." [ Source: Email forward... - CK ]

Next Pegasos production sold out : Comment 154 of 280 | ANN.lu |
Posted by Gingerbread Man on 08-Jun-2002 20:08 GMT | In reply to Comment 153 (Johan Rönnblom): >I really do not understand why Ben Hermans would be so eager to point out that >he didn't find the information given to him useful in any way. What is he >trying to make us believe? That Thendic gave him bad info just to waste some >of his time? Come on, whatever value the information had, surely it's a >positive gesture - and it should be worth some credit. Ben doesn't tell us if >he asked for some other, more valuable information, and whether it was denied >to him. But to me, it seems Thendic did try to help Hyperion. Although it will >be interesting to see if Ben's private mail agrees with his public statement, >I really don't think it's that important whether Hyperion had any use for the >documents or not.
"eager to point out" Huh!? Ben was responding to a post made by Bill Buck in which Bill makes a false statement (false according to Ben). Assuming Ben is right, wouldn't you do the same in his place?
"trying to make us believe" Huh!? This is a very interesting use of hyperbole.
Ben Hermans seems like a very forthright person to me. Bill Buck seems like a mealy-mouthed blatherskite. Ben Hermans involvement in this discussion seems anything but eager. On the contrary, he seems like a guy who is begrudgingly stepping in to clear up any falsehoods. Bill Buck was explicit in telling us that he is having a good time participating in these discussions.
"That Thendic(Bill Buck) gave him bad info just to waste some of his time?" No not to waste his time, but to make it look as if he is the good guy who is trying to work together when in actuality he has no intention of doing so. You're probably wondering why someone would act in this manner. I would guess that Bill Buck missed his calling by getting into business. His talents would be better suited in politics.
"Ben doesn't tell us if he asked for some other, more valuable information, and whether it was denied to him." Are you kidding? You might want to go back and reread Ben's replies. You will see that he wanted "source code" and instead received "register descriptions." See below:
"We NEVER got a scrap a source-code from ANYBODY with respect to the Cyberstorm PPC, the Blizzard PPC or whatever hardware produced by DCE, bPlan,Thendic etc.
"I repeat, all we got where two-three A4 pages with register descriptions of the Cyberstorm PPC which turned out to very sketchy and sometimes completely inaccurate and which we could have gotten from H&P who had the same information." - Ben Hermans |
